Khalid for sinking differences to forge Muslim unity

MADARIPUR, Feb 21(BSS) - Advisor to the Ministry of Religious Affairs Dr AFM Khalid Hossain has called upon Muslims to forget the differences and remain united for greater interests.

"Let us forget the differences. Give space to all Muslims in our hearts. You remain united. Unity is strength, strength is peace," the adviser told a gathering.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the 80th Faraizi Movement Waz Mahfil at Bahadurpur Madrasa Darbar of Haji Shariat Ullah at Shibchar Upazila today.

Referring to the contribution of Hazi Shariat Ullah to spread and promote Islamic norms and ideals in the Bengal, the adviser said, historic Faraizi movement led by Haji Shariat Ullah was forged against the British oppression on farmers.

"Haji Mohammad Shariat Ullah was the first freedom fighter of Bengal and the subcontinent as well," he added.
