KUET bans political activities
KU teachers demand politics-free campus

KHULNA. Aug 12 (BSS): Politics of teachers, students and employees have been banned at the Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) campus.
The decision was taken at an emergency syndicate meeting at KUET on Sunday, a press release issued by KUET registrar Anisur Rahman Bhuiyan said on Monday.
The meeting also banned any political meeting, rally and gathering at the KUET, says the release, adding that they could not affiliate with any associate bodies of political parties.
The decision was taken under KUET Act-2003. Legal action will be taken against the act violators, the release added.
Meanwhile, teachers of Khulna University (KU) have demanded politics-free campus in order to build an anti-discrimination society.
They made the demand in a sit-in demonstration at Shaheed Hadi Chattar of KU on Monday. Among others, Prof Dr Md Yasin Ali of Agro technology Discipline, Prof Dr Md Abdullah Yousuf Al Harun of Environment Science and Discipline, spoke. Teachers of different discipline attended the event.
