Mahmudur gets bail in Comilla

COMILLA, Jan 29 (UNB): A court here granted bail to the Daily Amar Desh acting editor Mahmudur Rahman on Monday in a defamation case for his alleged degrading remarks about the country's independence and sovereignty and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Md Hemayet Uddin granted his bail. Advocate Md Ziaul Hasan Chowdhury Shohag, former vice-president of district unit Bangladesh Chhatra League, filed a Tk 1,000 crore defamation case with the Comilla Judicial Magistrate Court-1 on December 12 last year.
