Make JP stronger to go to power

Ershad urges party men

Jatiya Party (JP) chairman Hussein Muhammad Ershad urged on Monday the party leaders and workers to make the organisation stronger to go to power, reports BSS.

"There is no alternative to the Jatiya Party in the next polls," he said.

The JP chairman made the comments while speaking at a function at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh in the city marking the 32nd founding anniversary of the party.

Ershad said he would like to see his party in power once again to serve the people until the last day of his life. "So we need to organised at the grassroots level in the country to reach our goal."

Senior co-chairman and Opposition Leader of the Jatiya Sangsad Begum Roushan Ershad called upon party leaders and workers to highlight successes of the past Ershad government before the common people.

The function was addressed, among others, by party co-chairman GM Kadar, secretary general Ruhul Amin Hawladar, presidium members Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud, Kazi Firoz Rashid and Syed Abu Hossain Babla.

Later, a colorful procession was brought out in the city that paraded different important thoroughfares marking the party's founding anniversary.
