Maulana Bhashani's 42nd death anniv observed

The 42nd death anniversary of veteran firebrand politician Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani was observed on Saturday with due respects, reports BSS.

Marking his death anniversary, a discussion meeting and doa mahfil was held at Bhashani Bhaban in the capital's Nayapaltan area.

Chaired by Bhashani Smrity Sangsad president Ziaul Huq Milu, the discussion was addressed, among others, by former student leader and Bhashani's close political associate Nazmul Huq Nannu, Bhashani Smrity Sangsad general secretary Advocate Kazi Munirul Huda, Vice President Monsur Ali Chunnu and Nancy Rahman.

Recalling the great contributions of Bhashani in the pre-and post-independent Bangladesh including the Liberation War, Nazmul Haq said, Bhashani had always led from the front in all ant-autocracy movements and voiced the voiceless teeming millions.

Earlier, in the morning, a delegation of Bhashani Smrity Sangsad led by its Vice President and Grand Son of Maulana Bhashani Mahmudul Huq Shanu placed a wreath at the mazar of Maulana Bhashani at Santosh.
