Menon calls for a drug-free society

Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khan Menon underscored on Tuesday the need for resistance of people from all strata of life to eliminate abuse of drugs from the society, reports BSS.
"Teachers should play a crucial role in keeping the new generation free from abuse of drugs," he said.
The minister made the comments while speaking at a view-exchange meeting with teachers on 'Building Resistance against Drugs, Terrorism and Militancy' at Siddheswari University College in the city.
He said now the clutch of drugs is not limited to Dhaka city rather the menace has reached rural high schools.
The abuse of drugs can no longer be ignored as it has become a great concern for the society, the minister added.
