Menon shown arrested in attempted murder case

A Dhaka court has showed former minister Rashed Khan Menon arrested in a case lodged for attempting to murder one Shakib Hossain in the capital during Anti-discrimination Student Movement last, reports BSS.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Saifuzzaman passed the order on Monday as police produced the him before the court and pleaded to show him arrested in the case. The court later sent him back to jail.

According to the case documents, Shakib was shot as he joined anti-discrimination student rally in the Ramna area on July 19, 2024. He later filed the case on December 11 in this connection.

Meanwhile, a Dhaka court has scrapped a bail plea filed by former state minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak in a graft case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the

order on Monday after holding a hearing on the matter.
