Minister for proper vested property management

RAJSHAHI, July 6 (BSS): Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sharif asked Sunday here the field level officials to take proper decision on the vested property related matters and discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty to this end.

He said the issues of morality and public interests must be given priority during the time of taking decision for the sake of eliminating public harassment as a whole and proper management of the vested properties.

The minister said this while speaking at the inaugural session of a daylong workshop on "Vested Property Management" at Nanking Darbar Hall in Rajshahi city Sunday.

Land ministry officials, additional deputy commissioners (revenue), revenue deputy collectors and assistant commissioners (land) from all 16 districts in Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions were present at the workshop.

With Senior Secretary of the ministry Shafiul Alam in the chair, Commissioner of Rajshahi Division Helaluddin Ahmed, Joint Secretary Monirul Islam and Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi Mejbah Uddin Chowdhury spoke on the session.

Habibul Kabir Chowdhury, Deputy Secretary of the Land Ministry, gave an overview of the vested property issues and measures adopted in this regard.

The land minister said the present government is committed to ensure transparency and accountability in the vested property management through resolving the existing problems.

The government has issued time-fitting and effective circular on how to handle and deal with the matter perfectly.
