Miscreants hack UPDF man dead in Rangamati

RANGAMATI, Mar 11 (UNB): A member of United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) was hacked to death by some miscreants at his residence in Bagaichhari upazila in the early hours of Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Natun Moni Chakma (42) of Balukhali village in the upzaila.

Locals said some miscreants hacked dead Natun Moni with sharp weapons when he was sleeping at his yard.

On information, police recovered the body in the morning and sent it to Khagrachhari Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Reason behind the killing could not be known immediately, said Amir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Baghaichhari thana.
