Miscreants kill two JL activists in Chattogram

CHATTOGRAM, Aug 28 (UNB): Two Jubo League (JL) activists, who were brothers, were killed in an attack in Choto Daroga Hat area of Sitakundu upazila on Monday night.

The deceased are Ramjan Ali Khokon (34) and Sijol Ali (30), sons of late Nurul Afsar of Baroyardhala union. They were activists of the ruling Awami League's youth front.

A gang of miscreants numbering 30 to 40 attacked the two brothers around 7:30 pm while they were returning home after attending a programme marking the National Mourning Day at Kutumbobari Community Centre in the area, arranged by the local unit of Awami League, said Jahirul Islam Bhuiyan, sub-inspector of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) police outpost.
