Momen seeks coop in bringing back Bangabandhu’s killers

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen hoped on Sunday that the absconding killers of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibar Rahman will be brought back to the country before the celebration of his birth centenary.

"We seek cooperation of all in this regard" the minister said while addressing a discussion organised by the Law Faculty of Dhaka University.

The minister also called upon the students of the faculty to start a campaign to mobilise opinions of Canadian people so that Bangabandhu's convicted killer Nur Chowdhury could be brought back home.

The Foreign Minister stressed the need for highlighting the successes achieved by the country in the past 10 years.

Recalling the contributions of Bangabandhu, he said without Bangabandhu, Bangladesh could not have achieved its independence.

The independence was not achieved overnight, it was the outcome of a long struggle and Bangabandhu was the architect of that struggle, he added.

Dr Momen said the foreign ministry has decided to organise different programmes from March 17 this year till March 17, 2020 to mark the birth centenary of Bangabandhu.
