Nanak's close aide snatched from police custody

Golam Mostofa, a close aide of Awami League (AL) leader Jahangir Kabir Nanak, was snatched away from the police custody, reports BSS.

Mostofa is accused in multiple cases relating to July mass uprising.

Police sources said a police team from Mohammadpur Police Station arrested Mostofa during a raid from Lalmatia at around 11:00 am on Thurday.

As the policemen attempted to handcuff the detainee, a group of people, including security guards, engaged in scuffle with police and snatched Mostofa away from the police, the sources said.

Efforts are on to capture Mostofa, police said.
