CHATTOGRAM, Apr 4 (UNB): A case has been filed against the publisher and editor of the Bangla daily Naya Diganta and a Dhaka University teacher for publishing a write-up defaming Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Jabedul Ajam Masud, former president of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Chattogram city unit, filed the case with Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate Court-5 on Wednesday.
The accused are Naya Diganta publisher Shamsul Huda, Editor Alamgir Mohiuddin and Dhaka University teacher of Marketing Department Prof Morshed Hasan Khan.
Taking the case into cognizance, the court asked officer-in-charge of Panchlaish thana to take steps after investigation, said Advocate Ibrahim Hossain Chowdhury Babul, counsel for the plaintiff.
BCL leader Masud said Prof Morshed Hossain Khan in his write-up published in the newspaper on March 26 wrote that Awami League leaders along with Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman fled away during the Liberation War in 1971.
A few months back, Alamin was also suspended for making love affair with a female admission seeker with promise to enroll her in 46th batch under the vice-chancellor quota.
