NPO calls for 2nd Nat\\\'l Productivity Award

The National Productivity Organisation (NPO) under the ministry of industries (MoI) has initiated to award the country's entrepreneurs for the second time in recognition of their efforts to boost productivity in different sectors, MoI officials said.

The award titled 'National Productivity and Quality Excellence Award' will be given in six categories - large, medium, small, cottage, micro and state-owned enterprises (SoEs).

According to a circular, NPO has already invited applications for the award, and entrepreneurs can apply for it until July 30. The award will be given in line with the Industrial Policy 2010.

An official of NPO told the FE: "We took the initiative of giving the award in a bid to give recognition to entrepreneurs for promoting industrial development and innovation."

The business houses that will apply for the award should be established in Bangladesh, and all of their business activities, including tax payment records, have to be up-to-date.

A jury board, comprising officials from MoI, the ministry of commerce, NPO and the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), will be formed for the award.

It is supposed to be given at the National productivity Day on October 2.
