Oikya Front aspirant Rony comes under attack

PATUAKHALI, Dec 29 (UNB): Some unidentified miscreants carried out an attacked on former Awami League (AL) MP Golam Maola Rony, who is contesting the national election as an Oikya Front candidate for Patuakhali-3 constituency, near his residence at Ulania Port in Golachipa Upazila on Friday evening.

Rony claimed that some miscreants swooped on him while he was returning home after performing his Maghrib prayers at a nearby mosque and beat him indiscriminately, leaving him injured.

Later, Rony informed Golachipa Police over phone and demanded immediate arrest of the attackers.

However, officer-in-charge of Golachipa Police Station Akhter Morshed said miscreants hurled eggs targeting Rony in the evening.
