Oikyafront's protest prog against 'vote robbery' Feb 6

Jatiya Oikya Front announced on Thursday a two-day programme, including demonstration wearing black badges and holding a public hearing, protesting what it said 'vote robbery ' in the December-30 national election, reports UNB.

Jatiya Oikya Front spokesman Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the programme after a meeting of the steering committee of the alliance at Dr Kalam Hossain's Motijheel chamber.

"Today's Oikya Front steering committee meeting decided to hold a black badge wearing programme in front of the National Press Club on February 6 protesting vote robbery on December 30," he said.

Fakhrul said the programme will begin at 3:00 pm and end at 4:00 pm with participation of Oikya Front leaders and activists.

Besides, he said, their alliance will hold a public hearing with participation of Oikya Front candidates and victimised voters on February 24.

Fakhrul said they will later announce the name of the venue where the programme will be held.

He said their alliance deferred its national dialogue programme which was scheduled to be held on February 06.

On January 17, Jatiya Oikya Front announced to hold a national dialogue on February 06 in the capital demanding reelection after cancelling the results of the 11th parliamentary election.

Apart from Fakhrul, JSD president ASM Abdur Rob, general secretary Abdul Malek Ratan, Gono Forum executive president Subrata Chowdhury, Nagorik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Krishak Sramik Janata League general secretary Iqbal Siddiqui and Gonoshasthya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, among others, joined the meeting with Dr Kamal in the chair.
