Outgoing CEC hopes new EC to work with efficiency

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Qazi Rakibuddin Ahmad expressed the hope that the new Election Commission (EC) would work with efficiency like the outgoing one, reports BSS.

"We have discharged our duties sincerely. I hope the new EC, too, will work with efficiency," he said talking to journalists after placing wreath at National Mausoleum at Savar.

Outgoing Election Commissioners Brig Gen (Retd) M Jabed Ali, M Shahnewaz and Mohammad Abu Hafiz accompanied the CEC.

Earlier, Dhaka district Police Super Shah Mizan Shafiur Rahman and Dhaka Divisional Election Officer Shah Alam received the outgoing CEC on his arrival at the National Mausoleum.
