People now frequently change political ideology for power: Dudu

BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu has said people now frequently change their political ideology for power which is posing a threat to Bangladesh politics, reports BSS.

He made the comments while speaking at a memorial meeting for Shafiul Alam Pradhan organised by Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (JAGPA) at the Jatiay Press Club in the capital on Wednesday, marking his 8th death anniversary.

Dudu said late JAGPA president Shafiul Alam Pradhan worked to protest against Indian authoritarianism until his death.

"He was against hegemony. He never supported activities against the country and the country's interests. He did not condone corruption in any way. I pray for the forgiveness of Pradhan's soul," he said.

The 12-party alliance chief and Jatiya Party (Jafar) chairman Mustafa Jamal Haider, Jamaat-e-Islami assistant secretary general Maulana Abdul Halim, Labour Party Bangladesh chairman Lion Md Faruk Rahman, Col. (retd.) Hasibur Rahman, Shafiul Alam Pradhan's elder brother Kabir Pradhan, JAGPA vice-president and party spokesperson Rashed Pradhan and general secretary Iqbal Hossain also spoke at the memorial meeting.
