PM attends office on holiday for third consecutive week

Prime Minister (PM) Tarique Rahman attended office on Saturday despite it being a public holiday, continuing the practice for the third consecutive week since assuming office, reports UNB.
He arrived at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) in Tejgaon at around 12:00 noon, said his Deputy Press Secretary Hasan Shiplu.
Shiplu said the PM first met Dr Nargis Akter, Director General of the Bangladesh Jute Research Institute, to discuss ways to expand the diversified use of jute products and broaden their market. Later, at around 02:30 pm Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku met the PM, he said.
Shiplu said the discussion focused on reducing costs in the power and energy sector and ensuring effective energy management. PM's Public Administration Adviser Ismail Zabiullah, Finance Adviser Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir and Education and Expatriates' Welfare Adviser Mahdi Amin also attended office at the PMO.
