Awami League (AL) general secretary Obaidul Quader said on Wednesday Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wants to sit in dialogue with other parties as well, reports UNB.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said this while talking to reporters after a meeting with French Ambassador in Dhaka Marie Annick Bourdin and German Ambassador Peter Fahrenholtz at the Secretariat.
"All irrespective of party and opinion have supported the Prime Minister's dialogue initiative. Ambassadors also supported and encouraged the initiative," he said.
"During the dialogue with Jatiya Oikya Front, there'll be 20 representatives from Awami League. The Prime Minister has no precondition... talks can be held on any issue," he said.
Responding to a query over Khaleda Zia's sentence, he said it is a matter of court and Khaleda's verdict has no relation with this dialogue. "Now, BNP will have to fight a legal battle."
The ambassadors wanted to know about the elections and election environment, he said, adding, "I told them the election will be held under the Election Commission and the government will only carry out the routine work."
