Police arrest 15 from CU halls over BCL factional clash

CHITTAGONG UNIVERSITY, Mar 29 (UNB): Police in a drive arrested at least 15 students from two residential halls of Chittagong University (CU) following a factional clash between two groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on Wednesday evening.
During the drive, police also recovered some 20 locally-made sharp weapons, including iron rods and machetes, two sacks of bricks and stones, from Shah Jalal and Suhrawardy dormitories.
Hathazari Model Police Station officer-in-charge Belal Uddin said that police arrested 15 students for interrogation.
Earlier on Tuesday afternoon, at least five people were injured in a clash between followers of Shatal train coach-based two organisations-Sixty-nine and VX.
