Police recover body of Nakhla UZ chairman

SHERPUR, Oct 20 (UNB)" Police recovered the hanging body of Nakhla upazila chairman from his residence at Kursha in Nakhla upazila headquarters on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Mahbub Ali alias Manir (65), a former joint convener of district unit BNP.

Informed by locals, police recovered Manir's body, hanging from the ceiling fan of his house around 8:00 am, said Khan Abdul Halim, officer-in-charge (OC) of Nakhla thana.

Police suspected that Manir committed suicide.

Manir used to live at the house with his second wife, the OC added.
