President Abdul Hamid urged on Monday the judges to take necessary steps to give clear interpretation of laws while pronouncing verdicts, reports UNB.
The President made the urge when a delegation of judges led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain submitted the Annual Report-2017 of the Bangladesh Supreme Court to him at Bangabhaban.
"Judiciary is last hope of the justice seekers. So you have to be more active for ensuring justice," Abdul Hamid said.
The President also called upon judges and others concerned to play the active role so that justice-seekers can get justice properly.
During the meeting, the judges' delegation apprised the President of different aspects of the report, including Strategic Plan of Supreme Court of Bangladesh and progress of the disposal of cases in the High Court and Appellate Division.
The President assured them of providing his all-out cooperation in this regard. Abdul Hamid thanked the Chief Justice and the other delegation members for submitting the report.
