President visits Padma Bridge project sites

MUNSHIGANJ, Apr 2 (BSS): President M Abdul Hamid visited today the Padma Multipurpose Bridge project sites in Munshiganj and Shariatpur areas, expressing his satisfaction over the progress of the construction work of the mega project.

The President, who is on a two-day visit to Padma Bridge Project sites, arrived at the Padma Bridge Service Area-1 in Mawa part of Munshiganj this afternoon, where he was apprised of different activities of this mega project fully financed by the present government.

Abdul Hamid visited different areas of the project, including Chino-Hidro Majhikandi, Mawato Kathalbari, Padma Badge Span at Jajira point and bridge construction site.

He along with his entourage members also undertook a boat-ride to witness the pillars of the bridge and scenic beauty of the mighty Padma.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Sagufta Yasmin Emily, MP, Mrinal Kanti Das, MP, B.M. Muzammel Haque, MP, Awami League Organising Secretary AKM Enamul Haque Shamim and senior civil and military officials accompanied the President.
