Probe report against six Gaibandha war crimes suspects on December 28

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has fixed December 28 for submitting report on probe into six persons for their alleged involvement in the crimes against humanity committed during the War of Liberation in 1971,  reports BSS.

The accused Abdul Jabbar Mandal, Jafijar Rahman, Abdul Wahed Mandal, Mamtaz Ali Bepari, Asgar Hossain Khan and Ronju Miah hail from Gaibandha. Of the six, only Ronju is in jail now.

"The tribunal set the date as we pleaded for two months' time to submit the report," said prosecutor Sabina Yesmin Khan Munni on Sunday.

The prosecution also managed to get permission to interrogate Ronju Miah at the tribunal safe home on October 30.

According to the case documents, all of accused acted as collaborators of Pakistan occupation force in Gaibandha during the War of Liberation. They killed nine people at Nandina village and burnt 50 houses to ashes in a single day in 1971.

They also gunned down seven freedom fighters after torturing them," Munni added.
