Probe report in graft case against Prof Kalimullah, others on May 20

A Dhaka court on Tuesday set May 20 for submitting the probe report in a graft case against five individuals, including former Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Professor Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, reports BSS.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order as the investigation agency, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), failed to submit the probe report on Tuesday.
On July 18, 2025, ACC Assistant Director Minhaz Bin-Islam filed the case alleging embezzlement of funds from the BRUR development project.
The other accused of the case are-- former VC and project director of the university Prof AKM Nurunnabi, former executive engineer and a member of the tender evaluation committee Jahangir Alam and two contractors-- Abdus Salam Bachhu and M M Habibur Rahman.
