‘Protecting spirit of mass uprising people's collective responsibility’

MYMENSINGH, Nov 30 (UNB): Sarjis Alam, general secretary of the July Shaheed Smriti Foundation, on Saturday said protecting the spirit and dreams of the July-August mass uprising is people's collective duty.

"We are giving all our efforts for preserving the dreams and spirit for which people shed blood and scarified lives.

But killer Hasina and her accomplices are trying in every way to ensure we fail. If we fail, she won't spare anyone," he said while speaking at a programme held at the Tareq Smriti auditorium.

Financial assistances were given to 55 families of martyrs of mass uprising at the event.

Narrating the atrocities of the Awami League government he said, "There are martyr families who were not allowed to bury their loved ones, live in their homes, or escape harassment. If Hasina comes again, the same will happen."

He urged all to work constructively saying, "We will critically analyse the government's actions and also assist the administration to fulfill its duties effectively."
