Re-voting in Kurigram-4 today

The Election Commission (EC) will arrange re-voting in two polling centres of Kurigram-4 constituency today (Thursday).

"The re-polling in Kurigram-4 will be held on Thursday," Election Commissioner Md Shah Nawaz told UNB Tuesday.

The voting at the two polling stations was suspended due to widespread violence during the January 5 parliamentary elections in the 147 constituencies out of 300.

Later, the Commission fixed January 16 for re-voting in Kurigram-4 and seven other constituencies, but the High Court stayed the re-polling in Kurigram-4.

As the court withdrew the stay order on the re-voting in the constituency Sunday, the commission Tuesday decided to hold the re-voting in the constituency.
