Report submission in Jatrabari genocide case on April 6

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has set April 6 for submitting probe report in genocide case filed over crimes committed in the Jatrabari area during the student-led July-August mass uprising, reports BSS.

The three-member tribunal led by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder passed the order on Thursday, allowing a time plea filed by the prosecution.

Prosecutor BM Sultan Mahmud said, " We pleaded for two months' time for submitting report. Allowing our plea, the tribunal set April 4 for the report."

The prosecutor also said two accused former officer in-charge of Jatrabari Police Station Abul Hossain and former assistant commissioner of police's Jatrabari zone Tanjil Ahmed, out of total six were produced before the court for the hearing.

Meanwhile, the ICT also allowed two separate pleas filed by prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim regarding seizure of different documents.
