Salman, Kamal Majumder, three others shown arrested in fresh cases

Two separate courts in Dhaka have showed five people including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina's former private industry affairs adviser Salman F Rahman and former state minister for industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder arrested in four cases filed over murders committed during the student-led July-August mass uprising, reports BSS.

The three other arrestees are former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, former Barguna-1 lawmaker Dhirendra Debnath Shambhu and Diamond World Managing Director Dilip Kumar Agarwala.

Of the five, Salman F Rahman and Mamun were shown arrested in Shahabuln Islam Shawon killing case and Shambhu was shown arrested in Riajul killing case. Both the cases were filed with Ashulia Police Stations. Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Tajul Islam showed them arrested in the cases.

Besides, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate MA Azharul Islam showed Kamal arrested in a murder case filed with Pallabi Police Station, while Agarwala was shown arrested in another murder case filed with Gulshan Police Station.
