SC will consider actions against judges who assisted fascism: Law adviser

Law Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul has said the Supreme Court (SC) will consider taking measures against the judges who acted as the abettors of the Sheikh Hasina's fascist regime.

Law adviser said, "The student and people, who led the recent movement, feel that some of the judges acted as the enablers of the fascist regime… The apex court are enough wise and mature. They will consider what measure they will take against the judges who acted as the enabler of the fascist under the constitutional framework. I can't give any suggestion to them as the SC is a separate administration."

He came up the remarks while briefing to journalists on the Supreme Court premises after a meeting with Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed on Wednesday.

He further said the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) will be reconstituted within next week and the full-scale trial proceedings of tribunal will resume within a month.

He said, "I don't have any headache over whereabouts of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. My duty is to hold the trial. The foreign ministry will see it where she is staying.”
