Send Nur abroad within one week for treatment

Gono Odhikar Parishad (GOP) called upon on Thursday the ministry of health to send its president Nurul Haque Nur abroad for receiving advanced medical treatment within the next one week.
"Our party president Nurul Haque Nur's health condition is not well as blood is still rolling down from his nose," General Secretary of GOP Rashed Khan told the media in front of the administrative block building of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on the day.
He expressed the hope that the ministry of health would arrange Nur's advanced medical treatment abroad within the next one week.
Rashed Khan also demanded the resignation of the interim government's Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (retd.) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.
He thanked political parties' leaders who have visited ailing Nur at DMCH.
He demanded that legal action be taken against the personnel of law enforcement agencies who were allegedly responsible for th attack on Nur.
On Friday (August 29, 2025) night, Jatiya Party men clashed with GOP activists in the capital's Bijoynagar area.
Many people, including Nurul Haque Nur and R ashed Khan were injured when the law enforcement agency members charged batons to contain the situation.
DMCH emergency department's resident surgeon Dr Mostak Ahmed said that part of Nur's skull was broken, while his nose and right cheekbone were also fractured.
He said that Nur suffered a minor haemorrhage, with swelling on his face and blood in his eyes. However, there are no other injuries on his body.
Nur was first taken to Islami Bank Hospital at Kakrail in the city and later he was transferred to the emergency department of DMCH.
