Sheikh Russel's killing a symbol of brutality, says Hanif

Bangladesh Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul-Alam Hanif, MP, on Friday said the barbaric killing of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's youngest son Sheikh Russel is a symbol of brutality, reports BSS.

"Bangladesh came into being under the leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Three million martyrs sacrificed their lives and 0.2 million women sacrificed their supreme honour for this country. We cannot let this country to go haywire from the spirit of liberation war. We have to teach our young generation about this history," he said.

Hanif came up with the observations while addressing as chief guest National Child Art Competition marking the 59th birthday of Sheikh Russel at Dhaka University Faculty of Arts premises. Cultural and social platform Gourab 71 organized the competition.

Presided over by Gourab 71 president SM Monirul Islam Moni, the function was conducted by its General Secretary FM Shahin.
