Six additional secretaries among eight officials reshuffled

The government has reassigned six additional secretaries to different offices as part of the latest round of administrative reshuffles, reports bdnews25.com.

A new divisional commissioner has also been appointed in Mymensingh, while Magura has received a new deputy commissioner.

On Monday and Tuesday, the Ministry of Public Administration announced a series of appointments and transfers.

The latest moves come amid continuing changes in the bureaucracy since the BNP formed the government after securing a sweeping majority in the Feb 12 election.

SM Humayun Kabir Sarkar, an additional secretary at the Health Services Division, has been appointed divisional commissioner of Mymensingh.

Motakabbir Ahmed, a deputy secretary at the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, has been posted as Magura DC.

Additional Secretary Md Muhidul Islam of the Ministry of Shipping will take over as chairman of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA).

Jinnat Rehana, an additional secretary attached to the Road Transport and Highways Division, has been assigned as director general of the Directorate General of Family Planning.

Md Fazlur Rahman, an additional secretary attached to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, has been given charge as managing director of the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority.

All five officials have been sent to their new roles on deputation.

Meanwhile, Additional Secretary Rashida Ferdous of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism has been transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture.

Additional Secretary Md Abdur Rahim Khan of the Ministry of Commerce has been moved to the Ministry of Labour and Employment.

Badrun Nahar, an additional secretary at the Secondary and Higher Education Division, has been shifted to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.
