Six sent to jail over Shammo killing

A Dhaka court has sent six accused to jail after the end of their remand in a case filed over the killing of Dhaka University (DU) student Shahriar Alam Shammo, reports BSS.

The accused are Tamim Hawlader (30), Polash Sardar (30), Samrat Mallik (28), Hridoy Islam, Sohag, and Robin.

The court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Atiqur Rahman passed the order on Wednesday after police produced them before the court, appealing to keep them in jail during the investigation.

On May 13, a team from Shahbagh Police Station arrested Tamim, Polash, and Samrat during drives in the capitals Green Road and Rajabazar areas.
