Six 'Shibir men' arrested with Molotov cocktails in Naogaon

NAOGAON, Oct 13 (UNB): Police have arrested six suspected members of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, along with Molotov cocktails and jihadi books from Madrasapara area in the district town today.
The six were identified as Abdul Mannan, 20, son of Shamsul Alam, Rabiul Islam Mahbub, 19, son of Bazlur Rashid, Abdus Sabur, 19, son of Ashraful Islam, Mohi Uddin, 19, son of Azizul Islam, Alamgir Hossain Mithu, 35, son of Golzar Hossain Babu and Mehedi Hasan, 19, son of Abdul Mannan.
Superintendent of Police Md Abdul Mannan Mia in a press briefing on the premises of Sadar Police Station said acting on a tip off they arrested the Shibir men.
Police seized nine Molotov cocktails, jihadi books, seven mobile Sim cards, five cell phones from their possession.
Around 25 to 30 Shibir men were in a secret meeting in a house and planning to commit sabotage when police caught six of them but rest managed to flee, said officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Md Suhrawardi Hossain.
