Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council (BHBCUC) called upon on Saturday all political parties of the Jumma people of Chittagong Hill Tracts to play united role to stop fraternal clashes in the hilly areas, reports UNB.

Condemning the killing of several people, including Shaktiman Chakma and Tapan Jyoti Chakma, two popular leaders of the hills, the BHBCUC general secretary Advocate Rana Das Gupta said those who have weakened tribal people's struggle for rights are actually behind the incident, he said.

With the incident, the perpetrators create scope for further delay in implementation of the CHT peace accord, which is in no way a good sign for peace, freedom, democracy and stability of the country, he said.
