Shobar Agey Bangladesh Foundation, a pro-BNP social and cultural organisation, has rescheduled the 'Swadhinata Concert' expressing solidarity with the ongoing protest against the brutal killing in Gaza and Rafah by Israel, report agencies.

The concert, initially set for April 11, has been postponed by a day and will now be held on April 12 (Saturday) in the capital Dhaka and three other divisional cities -- Chattogram, Khulna and Bogura, according to the organisers.

The venue in Dhaka has been set at Manik Mia Avenue, while the events will be held at MA Aziz Stadium in Chattogram, the local stadium in Khulna, and either Altafunnesa Field or Azizul Haque College Field in Bogura.

"We express our solidarity with all the programmes protesting Israel's

barbaric attacks, said a press release issued by the organisation's president and BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie and general secretary Rokibul Islam Bakul.

This year, the 'Swadhinata Concert' is planned to be held simultaneously in four cities, including Dhaka with an aim to highlight Bangladesh's rich culture, folk music, and the spirit of the Liberation War. Rather than foreign (Indian or Pakistani) songs, the focus will be on performances by local artistes.

The organisers condemned the brutal attacks by Israeli forces on Gaza and Rafah, which have already resulted in the deaths of thousands of innocent people, including children, women, and the elderly.
