Tarique's arrest warrant withdrawn in Aug 21 grenade attack case

A Dhaka court has ordered the withdrawal of arrest warrants for BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and other absconding suspects in the Aug 21 grenade attack case, reports bdnews24.com.

Dhaka's Speedy Trial Tribunal 1 Judge Rafiqul Islam gave the order on Monday.

The court's ruling came in response to an application filed by the state, which requested the withdrawal of the arrest warrants.

Earlier, on December 1, 2024, the bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Syed Enayet Hossain acquitted Tarique and all other suspects in the widely-discussed case.
