Three on fresh remand in Shammo murder case

A Dhaka court has placed the three arrested in a case lodged over the murder of Dhaka University student Shahriar Alam Shammo on a five-day fresh remand, reports BSS.

The three are -- Tamim Hawlader (30), Samrat Mallik (28), and Palash Sardar (30).

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate MA Azharul Islam passed the order on Friday as police produced the trio before the court and pleaded to place them on a seven-day remand each.

Police arrested the accused on separate drives in the city's Green Road and

Razabazar areas on May 13, within hours of the gruesome killing. A court on

May 17 had placed them on a six-day remand each.
