Travel ban on Gaan Bangla Chairman Taposh

A Dhaka court has imposed a travel ban on Kaushik Hossain Taposh, chairman of Gaan Bangla TV, and ordered the National Bureau of Revenue (NBR) to provide the tax documents of him and his wife Farzana Munni to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), reports BSS.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the orders on Thursday, allowing two separate petitions filed by the CID.

Earlier on May 7, 2025, a Dhaka court sent Kaushik Hossain Taposh to jail after showing him arrested in a case filed for an attempt to kill rickshaw-van driver Abdul Jabbar Howlader during the July Mass Uprising.

Taposh was detained on the night of November 3, 2024, in the capital's Bhatara area.
