Two ex-MPs, 11 leaders of banned AL arrested

Detective Branch (DB) police arrested two former members of parliament (MPs) and 11 other leaders and activists of banned Awami League (AL) and affiliated bodies from different areas in the capital.
The arrestees are Faizur Rahman Badal, former MP of Brahmanbaria-5 constituency and also president of Nabinagar upazila unit AL; Tamanna Nustrat Bubuli (45), former MP of women reserved seat and Narsingdi district women affairs secretary of AL; Md Manikurur Rahman, president of Sheikh Hasina Trinamool Sangrami League and former member of banned Chhatra League of Government Titumir College unit; Md Abdur Razzaque Shakil, former law affairs secretary of ward no 22 (Rampura, Dhaka city ) of Jatiya Sramik League and also member of Sheikh Hasina Trinamool Sangrami League.
The arrestees also include Md Alam Matbar (58), secretary of Bangladesh Sramik Federation and also member of Sheikh Hasina Trinamool Sangrami League; Md Saiful Islam (37), member of Sheikh Hasina Trinamool Sangrami League; Md Moksed (39), member of banned Jubo League of Mohespur upazila unit of Jhenaidah district; Md Kayem Hossain (41), member of banned AL of Raipur Union unit under Jibonnagar Upazila of Chuadanga district; Riyazuddin Ahmed Manik (50), former member of banned AL of ward no. 31 ( Chalkbazar, Dhaka city);
Other arrested individuals are Md Nazrul Islam Suman (37), member of Bangabandhu Sainik League; Ebadul Haque Sabuj (35), education, training and library affairs secretary of Dhaka south unit of banned Jubo League; Mahbubul Haque Hirak (60), former vice-president of banned Chhatra League of Dhaka south unit; and Abiruzzaman alias Abir (25), Chhatra League leader of Jagannath University unit.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) Muhammd Talebur Rahman said that the arrests were made during raids from Sunday to Monday.
