Two on remand over murder of Swechchhasebak Dal leader

A Dhaka court has placed two people on a four- day remand each in a case filed over the murder of Swechchhasebak Dal leader Billal Hossain, reports BSS.

The accused who were put on remand are Riajul Hasan and Al Amin Mahin.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Zakir Hossain passed the order on Wednesday as police produced the them before the court seeking a 10-day remand for

each.

Earlier, the court accepted the First Information Report (FIR) and set July 9

for submission of the investigation report.

According to the case documents, Billal Hossain used to run a business at Arafat Market in the Ramna area and had a longstanding dispute with some individuals, including Didarul Islam Babu.

On the evening of June 8, Babu allegedly called Billal to a place behind the market, where he and his associates attacked and stabbed him indiscriminately.

The attackers left the scene, leaving Billal critically injured.
