Two SL, BCL leaders sent to jail

A Dhaka court has sent two leaders of Swechchhasebak League (SL) and banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) to jail after ending their remand in an explosive substance act case, reports BSS.

They are Shahidul Islam Nayeem (38), office secretary of Swechchhasebak League Paltan unit and Fahad Hossain Bappi (23), former vice president of banned BCL Paltan unit.

Court sources said they were produced before the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) by a team of Paltan P0lice Station after ending the tenure of their remand.

Police also prayed for confining them inside the jail till the end of the investigation of the case.

Metropolitan Magistrate Partha Bhadra, on behalf of the CMM, ordered to send them to jail after hearing the petition of the Investigation Officer (IO).

The IO in his petition alleged that these two persons are listed accused in the case and are involved in anti-state activities and anti-state publicity.
