Vested quarters out to thwart national polls: Amu

JHALAKATHI, Sept 01 (BSS): Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu said on Saturday vested quarters, opposed to the spirits of the War of Liberation, are out to intrigue to foil the upcoming national polls.

"The vested quarters are continuing their conspiracies to foil the upcoming national polls. They are spreading rumours and trying to bank on their foreign masters. But the next parliament elections will be held as per the Constitution," he said while inaugurating Primary Training Institute (PTI) Complex building at Kifaitnagar here.

He said the polls will be held in Bangladesh likewise other democratic countries like India, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Deputy Commissioner Md Hamidul Haque, Police Super Md Jobayedur Rahman and Awami League district unit General Secretary Advocate Khan Saifullha Panir, among others, were present at the function with PTI of Jahlokati Superintendent Swapon Kumar Odhikari in the chair.

Local Government Engineering Department constructed the complex spending Taka 17.26 crore.
