Want to serve the people: Tonmoy

BAGERHAT, Dec 15 (UNB): Awami League candidate Sheikh Sarhan Naser Tonmoy said on Saturday his ambition was to serve the people instead of becoming a political leader.

"I am a minor activist of Awami League's Bagerhat municipality unit. I want to work with the people," the Bagerhat-2 constituency aspirant told a women's rally at the Sadar Upazila.

"We have to cooperate with each other," said Tonmoy, the nephew of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

"We do not believe in political practices involving terrorism, arson and vengeance," he said, urging the people to vote for the Awami League to continue the trend of development.
