Writ challenges actor Farooque's candidacy

A writ petition was filed challenging the candidacy of Awami League candidate for Dhaka-17 constituency Akbar Hossain Pathan ( Farooque) alleging Farooque is a bank loan defaulter, reports UNB.

Farooque's contestant from the same constituency BNP candidate Barrister Andalib Rahman Partha filed the writ petition with High Court (HC) on Monday, said his lawyer Barrister Md Ruhul Quddus Kazal.

Earlier getting nomination, Farooque filed a writ petition with HC to get rid of loan default but the court was yet to pass a verdict on it.
