FE REPORT
Jurisdiction of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) in Dhaka to try crimes committed during the July-August uprising has been challenged.
Lawyers of former Director General of the National Telecommunication Monitoring Centre (NTMC) Major General Ziaul Ahsan, who is an accused in a case filed on a charge of committing crimes against humanity, filed a petition with the ICT challenging its validity on Monday.
They have also sought Major General ((sacked) Ziaul Ahsan's acquittal of the charge.
After the hearing, a three-member bench of the tribunal headed by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder fixed January 22 to pass an order on the petition.
