Zonayed Saki thanks supporters after victory

Zonayed Saki, chief coordinator of Ganosanghati Andolon, has expressed gratitude to BNP allies, party activists and the people of Bancharampur after winning the Brahmanbaria-6 constituency in the national election, reports bdnews24.com.

Saki, who contested as part of the BNP-led alliance, said in a statement on Friday the victory was the outcome of a long struggle against authoritarianism, joint movements and sacrifices.

"We remember with deep respect the martyrs of our Liberation War and all democratic movements," he said.Saki described the election as long awaited and credited voters nationwide for exercising their franchise in an orderly manner.

He also thanked political parties, the interim government and the Election Commission for completing the polls despite limitations.
