$ 32m Taiwanese investment in CEPZ

Taiwanese company Tai Sheng Manufacturing Company Limited will set up a furniture manufacturing industry in the extension area CSD of Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone in Chittagong.
This foreign-owned company will invest $32 million in setting up their plant and will produce table, chair, bed, nightstand, mirror, chest, dresser, TV stand, coffee table, end table etc for export.
The company will create employment opportunity for 6630 Bangladeshis and 60 foreign nationals, says a press release.
An agreement to this effect was signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Tai Sheng Co Ltd at BEPZA Complex in the city Wednesday.
BEPZA Member (Investment Promotion) Md Farhad Uddin and Tai Sheng Manager Finance Alex Lin signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
BEPZA Executive Chairman Jamil Ahmed Khan and other officials from both of the organisations were also present on the occasion.
